
Dr prosper Ikechukwu Igboeli MD hails from Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria. He had his Secondary / High School Education at Dennis Memorial Grammar School, Onitsha. Following that, he had the singular opportunity of being among the contingent that represented Nigeria at the 13th International Boys Scout Jamboree Hosted in Japan in 1971. There, he met a Jewish boy scout, Michael Peres, who got interested in him and offered him an eductional assistance through his parents –Barbara and Richard Peres. Through the help of Peres’ family and community organizations, Igboeli went to the United State of America in 1972 to study his life time ambition (Medicine)
Dr. Prosper I. Igboeli MD received his BS (Biology) degree from Utica college of Syracuse University with highest honors (First Class) in 1974 and was the salutatorian of his graduating class. He graduated from the College of Medicine, State University of New York Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse in 1977.
He served an internship in General Surgery at St Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston from 1977 – 1978. He trained in his speciality of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Danbury Hospital, affiliate of Yale School of Medicine, in Connecticut from 1978 – 1982.
